   Sunday 25th September 2011

Focusing on my Final Year Project. I went to a service at Christchurch in Winchester. After the service I met up with the Vicar called David Williams. I pitched me documentary idea to him. He thought it was very interesting to do. Though he felt I could possibly not do it as journalists this year have failed to get into the prison. He said he would keep in touch with me, if plans change and I can actually make the documentary.

    Thursday 29th September 2011

I went to the reception at Christchurch were I met a lady called Yvonne Secca. I left my contact details with her and I explained to her that I wanted to do a documentary on a church minister at the Winchester Community Prison. She told me that she will mention my documentary idea to the church committee. That same day I sent an email to a man called Peter Russell, who is a minister at Christchurch asking him if he could find out If I do my documentary. I asked him If he had any contacts at Christchurch who do prison ministry at the Winchester community prison.

    Saturday 1st October 2011

I received an email from Peter Russell, he gave me some contacts who do prison ministry at Winchester community prison often. There names were Graham Topping and Peter Winfield. He gave me their Land line numbers so I can contact them straight away.

  Tuesday 4th Ocotober 2011

I went to Christchurch to meet up the vicar called David Williams. We talked about the documentary to be potentially made. He gave me Peter Winfield's mobile number so I could contact him very soon. He recommended that I got in touch with Peter Winfield straight away as he is a prison minister.

  Wednesday 5th October 2011

I rang up Peter Winfield to mention my documentary idea. I explained to him that I wanted to do a documentary on him doing church services at the prison. The theme of the documentary investigating the prisoners faiths and also showing his interaction with the prisoners. As I was pitching the idea to him on the phone, he rejected it straight away because I was not registered by Christchurch and I wasn't a church staff member. He said that I wouldn't be allowed into the prison even if I didn't take a camera in as journalism had been rejected very often. He told me that I wouldn't be able to visit the prison in general for own safety. He mention that you can only visit the prison if you're a Christchurch staff member and a qualified minister. He even told me not to discuss it further with Christchurch staff or with him as it will not be accepted at all. Though we ended the conversion on a good note, by him saying that I'm always welcome to contact him for other purposes and he wished me luck in finding another documentary idea towards my degree. I finally told him I will keep the documentary idea as research towards my degree which he was satisfied with.

  Thursday 6th October 2011

Here I considered my flip idea for my Final Year Project. I decided to do a documentary on Mormonism in the United Kingdom which will involve me exploring the faith of Mormonism. I remembered that I had contacts with a Mormon Church in Winchester which I could potentially use as primaries for my documentary idea. I decided that I wanted to explore why these Mormon sisters, are in Winchester as this type of religion is associated in America. I wanted to find out why there are preaching Mormonism in the United Kingdom instead of doing it in America. Whilst doing this documentary if it works out I will respectably broaden my knowledge of Mormonism from them and I will find out how they spend their everyday life's.

 Thursday 6th October 2011 (Evening)

That evening Karin Stowe sent me a email congratulating me on flipping my final year project idea straight away. He mention that this will go towards my critical reflection next year. Karin ask me, what slant I am going to take on with these Mormons, to consider the twist for the documentary and the unique selling point for it.  He told me to be aware that I will need to challenge these Mormon sister ideals, find out about them as people, their stories, what got to this point and do feel Mormonism works in this culture. He mentioned that I will need to find an angle for the documentary and to bring my faith into the subject for differences between faiths. He told me that I need to consider what the message is for my potential documentary. Also he suggested that I could broaden more ideas to encapsulate more faiths. Relating to this he said I may be better finding a 2012 cult or group with regards to the end of the world conspiracies, next year and journeying with them as the timetable will let me.

 Sunday 8th October 2011

Here I began secondary research on Mormonism by hiring out various books on the faith from our university library. I then that day began read about the origins of Mormonism and about the founder of the faith called Joseph Smith.

  Tuesday 11th October 2011

When I met with my supervisor for a tutorial, Mark Hawker we discussed about my flip documentary idea on Mormonism in the United Kingdom. He told me that It was a good idea to cover though he felt I should take on Karin Stowe's idea for originality,by finding a 2012 cult and journeying with them before the world ends if it does?. That afternoon I began researching into 2012 cults, focusing on Doomsday 2012 cults that seem to often spoken about in  world society.

  Friday 14th October 2011

Here I did in depth secondary research into the origins of the Long Count Mayan Calender,Mayan Prophecies, Mayan Mythology-Civilization, Doomsday Cults around the world and I watched a variety of documentaries on Mayan Prophecies and 2012 conspiracies.

 Tuesday 18th October 2011

I had a tutorial with my supervisor Mark Hawker. I discussed with him what I had researched into since the week before. I told him that I looked into the theory of the  Long Count Mayan Calendar, Mayan Prophecies, Mayan Mythology and Scientology. I also told him that I had researched into a variety of Doomsday cults and societies worldwide. I mentioned to him that I had watched specific documentaries about Mayan Prophecies and 2012 conspiracies. I also told him that I had hired out some books out of the University library on Mayan Prophecies and 2012 conspiracies for reading sources to broaden my knowledge of this topic. Mark Hawker advised me to research into Doomsday cults and 2012 societies in the UK to get primary contacts for my documentary this week. He also told me to research into a french town called Bugarach, South of France because recently in July 2011 it has been spooked by Doomsday 2012 Cults. These cults believe that it is only village in the world where it is possible to survive the end of the world on 21.12.12 . I can use this location to follow particular cults on a journey.

 Saturday 22nd October 2011

I researched into doomsday cults, societies and theorists who have strong believes and views on the 2012 phenomena. As I researched on the net I found various contacts from using globalconspiracy.co.uk and Skepticforum.com. I also found a contact from watching a documentary called the 2012 Mayan Prophecy and the Shift of the Ages. The contact is Philip Coppens, http://philipcoppens.com/ he featured in the documentary. He is an investigative journalist and an author. He covers studies from world politics to ancient history and conspiracies. He has also written a book called 2012 Science or Fiction?.I found his contact on twitter.

I took on Mark Hawker's advise about researching into the french town called Bugarach, South of France to investigate why doomsday cults strongly believe that it is only village where you can survive the end of the world. I found an article about the Bugarach village on the net mentioning that it had been spooked by doomsday cults. The article was written by the BBC on 8th July 2011 by Chris Bockman. Here it is:

   http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/9531861.stm

When I was checking out this story in Bugarach, I came across another article that had similar story to the french village from being attracted by doomsday cults. The article was written by Marilyn Z.Tomlins. In the article she writes about the village of Bugarach, esoterics and doomsday cults believing that the village will be the place to survive the end of the world. At the end of the article various bloggers sum up their opinions on it. As I looked at these blog statements I noticed that a documentary company called True Vision TV were wanting to find English speaking civilians who are planning to seek safety and survival for 21.12.12 in Bugarach . A lady called Katie, katie@truevisiontv.com works for the company, she is searching for some people in the UK who are planning to travel to Bugarach.  Here is the article:

  Monday 24th October 2011

I decided to abandon my documentary proposal on 2012 Doomsday Cults. This was because I met a busker guitarist called Chris Morris in the Waterloo tube station two weeks back.He then got back to me a week later giving me links to has band called Blacktie- Whitenoise and clips of him busking. I then emailed him on the 21st October telling him that I wanted to do a documentary on him with his band. He responded on the 24th October saying that was really up for doing it and he mentioned it was beneficial for him and his band. So when I got the email, on the 24th October 2011 I decided to abandon to my documentary idea on 2012 Doomsday cults because I felt Chris Morris was an interesting and exciting character to document. Though the research I did on this I will use towards my degree as overall research. For another project towards my degree I need to do a documentary so take sense I will do it on 2012 Doomsday Cults as I have til May 2012 to complete it. Also as a safety precaution I decided, to take on the busker guitarist documentary just in case didn't find a cult before the deadline being the 14th March 2012.

  Tuesday 25th October

I had a tutorial where I explained to my supervisor, Mark Hawker that I had abandoned my documentary idea on 2012 Doomsday Cults because I met a busker guitarist called Chris Morris who was excited and up for doing a documentary, about himself and his band called Blacktie-Whitenoise. He advised me to go and meet up with him again to get to know him more as a character and so I could plan the documentary style and structure with him before filming the documentary. I showed Mark the web links, which Chris sent me about his band and him in action. Mark thought he was a very interesting and exciting individual and he was impressed by his rock style guitar playing. This week I was trying to fix up a day so Chris and I could meet up again London for possibly the weekend to get to know each other and the plan the documentary together .

 Wednesday 26th October 2011

I went to our University library to hire out some books on busking, rock music and rock culture in society for secondary research. Also I researched into various rock documentaries, I found several which I will soon watch for inspiration and style these included Bob Dylan, "D'ont Look Back",1965 which follows Bob Dylan on tour in the United Kingdom. Others included a documentary on Metallica called "Some Kind of Monster", The Devil and Daniel Johnston and Anvel.

  Friday 28th October 2011

I did ongoing research and reading into books on busking, rock culture and I watched a documentary for inspiration, influence and style ideas called Dont Look Back featuring Bob Dylan on a United Kingdom tour in 1965. I also sent Chris Morris an email about meeting up the following Friday in London to get know eachother and plan the documentary toegther.

 Saturday 29th October 2011

I went to London to do various primary research on buskers in tube stations and in public places. That evening I filmed a Beatboxer in Piccadilly Circus who I thought was rather talent hence why I filmed him. He beatboxed different music genres like Dubstep, House and Hip Hop. Unfortantely I didnt get time to meet him or get his name  as he had to go straight away when he finished. This was because there was a film set taking place for a Feature Film called 51 Degrees which I found comes out in the UK cinemas next year.

 Monday 31st October 2011

I continued reading books on busking and rock culture. I found an article on Chris Morris's facebook page written by Sam Osa, a Journalist. The article mentions about busking in London and Chris Morris being well known for busking in the tube stations. Here's the link:

 http://sammysgenericblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/rant-of-day-buskers.html

  Tuesday 1st November 2011

I had a tutorial with my supervisor, Mark Hawker. Here we mentioned about Chris Morris with regards to his music talent, guitar playing and his exciting character. Mark Hawker advised me to meet up with him this week to get to know him and to plan to the documentary together. I told him that I was hopefully meeting up with Chris Morris that Friday in London at a gig or around London. That evening a got an email from Chris Morris asking me If I wanted to join and meet up with him at a gig in Hackney, London on Friday that week. I responed straight away telling him that I will defintely meet up with him in Hackney that Friday.

  Friday 4th November 2011

I went to Stoke Newington, London for the evening to meet up with Chris Morris who was playing at a gig in a pub called The Drop. First, Chris and I had a drink then we chatted about ideas and angles we could approach to use towards the documentary.  We discussed ideas, like possibly filming him busking in a variety of places in London to see different people's reactions to his guitar playing. Ideas could be filming him busking outside Downing Street gates to see how long he can busk for before a police officer tries to stop him, getting him to busk at St Paul's Cathedral with the protesters, him busking in different underground stations and in popular tourist attractions. Other angles we considered looking back at what he has done in the past with regards to him being in other bands, him getting into busking and how he became interested in rock music.

After our chat for the plans towards the documentary, I then filmed Chris Morris playing at  the gig. He played a variety of tracks some being his own, some from his band- Blacktie- Whitenoise and some covers. He seemed to have a great interaction with the crowd when he was playing and they begged him to stay on longer playing. After the gig we then planned dates so we could meet up again soon to begin filming ideas towards the documentary.

 Tuesday 8th November 2011

I had a tutorial with Mark Hawker,  I told him that I went to meet up with Chris Morris at a gig he was playing at in Stoke Newington, London. I told him that we had a chat about ideas we could do towards the documentary like filming Chris Morris busking in a variety of places round London to see different people's reactions to his guitar playing. I also showed Mark Hawker the footage I filmed of Chris Morris playing at the gig. Mark Hawker advised me, to do a rough draft of my pitch presentation and to update my research website for the following week so we could go though it together as my pitch is on the 22nd November 2011.

   Friday 11th November 2011

I did research into Rock Documentaries for influencial and inspirational use towards my Documentary on Chris Morris. They included Bob Dylan: Dont Look Back, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster and Dig!. On my Craft Page I did synopsises for them, influence and inspiration notes on them all and I did reviews on them.

   Sunday 13th and Monday 14th November 2011

I did a Rough Draft, of my Final Year Project Pitch on Microsoft Power Point. So I could show a Rough Copy of my Pitch to Mark Hawker, for him to go through it with me to change or add things to it for my Pitch on 22nd November 2011.

   Saturday 26th November 2011

During this week I pitched my Documentary called Chris Morris and Beyond on tuesday 22nd November. Also during that week I got in contact with Chris Morris asking him when his next gig was coming up. I told him that I wanted to begin filming the documentary by filming him busking in a variety of public places to witness a contrast of public reactions to his busking.

    Sunday 4th December 2011

This week I got an email from Chris Morris, he invited me to a gig in Brixton, London on sunday 11th December. I responded to his email straight away telling him that I was delighted to attend. I told him that I wanted to begin the documentary over that weekend by starting to film him busking a variety of public places to witness a contrast of public reactions to his busking. During that week I planned and researched into cinematic places where I could film Chris Morris busking and I started to write questions to ask for several interview over the next few months.
